ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m April.
I’m a wife, mom, sister, breast cancer survivor, professional overthinker, and frequent swearer.
I’m also the voice behind Kind Like Katey.
I write about family, grief, cancer, kindness, ridiculous memories, and all the messy shit in between.
Some stories will make you laugh. Some might make you cry. Hopefully, a few make you think.
I’m glad you’re here.
Why Kind like Katey
For my sister, Katey – the reason this little corner of the internet exists.
This blog has my name on the stories, but Katey is woven through all of it.
She was my sister, my friend, and one of those people who made kindness look effortless.
Losing her changed me. Cancer changed me. Life keeps changing me.
This is where I’m writing my way through all of it.

SHARE A KIND MOMENT
Kindness has a way of sticking with us.
Maybe someone showed up for you when you needed it most.
Maybe a stranger did something small that you’ve never forgotten. Or maybe you witnessed a moment of kindness that reminded you there are still good people in the world.
I want to hear about it.

KINDNESS LIVES HERE.
You never know what someone is carrying.
A small act of kindness can mean more than you will ever know.
This is where I’m collecting those moments—the kindness I’ve received, the kindness I’ve witnessed, and eventually, the kindness you’ve seen too.
Because something that feels small to you might mean everything to somebody else.
Kind Like Katey.
